Two things: a membership fee for platform access ($9.99/mo, or $1/mo for early adopters), plus the caregiver's hourly rate when you book a trip. During the trip you also cover the caregiver's travel expenses — flights, accommodation, and meals — at cost with no markup. No surprise charges, no percentage taken from your booking.
Each caregiver is credentialed and verified before being listed. Basic companions hold travel companion certification, Enhanced companions hold current CPR/First Aid certifications, and Medical companions hold active RN or LPN licenses. You filter and browse by tier when searching.
Caregivers set their own rates within the tier range. You'll see each caregiver's specific rate on their profile. Booking is handled through the platform to ensure both parties are protected.
Minimum bookings are typically 4 hours for local day trips and 2 days for overnight or travel journeys. This ensures the caregiver's time is fairly compensated for travel and preparation.
Payment is released within 3 business days of trip completion. You keep 80% of the booking fee depending on your caregiver tier and booking volume. Payments are made via direct deposit.
Yes — Journeys with Care has a small membership fee that unlocks access to the caregiver marketplace. The regular rate is $9.99/month. Our first 50 members lock in an early adopter rate of just $1/month for the first 6 months (then $9.99/mo, still locked in). Retirement communities can purchase a group membership for approximately $2,000–$3,000/year, which covers all residents. The membership fee is separate from caregiver hourly rates — think of it as your platform access pass.
Membership gives you full access to browse our vetted caregiver marketplace, filter by care tier and specialty, receive personalized caregiver matching based on your needs, and book and coordinate trips directly through the platform. You won't pay anything beyond your membership until you book a trip — and when you do, you only pay the caregiver's hourly rate for the time they're working.
